Due to the downturn of the economy many companies experienced declining revenues - but according to the Wall Street Journal the cutting down of IT budgets has already come to an end.

Dozens of chief technology officers interviewed by the Journal  indicated IT spending might even slightly increase next year.

Probably there will not be spending levels like in the last years anytime soon but at least the market will calm down a bit.

The difficult market situation boosts alternative approaches on decreasing risks in IT investments.

Outsourcing of IT services and especially subscriptions on Software as a Service solutions gain significant attention.
